Energy Alignment: How to let yourself flow

Have you ever felt off, stuck, or like something in your energy just is resisting? Maybe your manifestations are delayed, your emotions are overwhelming, or your intuition feels off. These are signs that your energy might be out of alignment.
What Is Energy Alignment? Energy alignment happens when your thoughts, emotions, and actions are working in harmony with your soul’s purpose, your true direction. It’s the foundation for ease, clarity, and magnetism in your life.
When you’re in alignment:
You feel focused and clear.
Manifestations unfold more naturally.
You attract people and opportunities that match your frequency.
When you’re out of alignment, you might feel:
Tired or anxious for no reason
Emotionally overwhelmed
Creatively blocked
Repeating the same emotional or relational patterns
This is your energy calling for attention.

Tools to Realign Your Energy
Here are 5 practices you can use to bring your energy back into alignment:
1. Mirror Work & Self-Inquiry
This is a powerful way to connect with your authentic self. Stand in front of a mirror, look into your own eyes, and speak to yourself with honesty and compassion. It’s not just about affirmations—it’s about listening to what your soul needs to say.
Ask yourself:
“Where am I abandoning myself?”
“What am I resisting in my growth?”
“What parts of me am I hiding or holding back?”
“What do I need to hear right now?”
Pro tip: Take note of what comes up for you/ Write it down or keep a personal vlog of your self-inquiry “sessions”. You may be surprised by the clarity that surfaces when you speak and listen to your own reflection.
2. Grounding Techniques
When your energy is scattered, grounding helps bring you back into your body and the present moment.
Easy grounding practices:
Walk barefoot on grass, dirt, or sand—let the earth recalibrate your energy.
Do a body scan: Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and move your awareness slowly from your head to your feet.

Pro tip: Visualize roots growing from your feet into the earth, anchoring and nourishing you.
Salt Baths or Clearing Rituals
These are energetic resets for your aura and your space. Water, smoke and sound carry ancient, elemental power.
For salt baths:
Add sea salt, Epsom salt, or pink Himalayan salt to warm water.
Include essential oils like lavender, eucalyptus, or rosemary.
Light a candle and set an intention to release what no longer serves you.
For smoke/sound clearing:
Burn sage, palo santo, or ethically sourced herbs.
Use incense or essential oil diffusers for subtle energetic shifts.
Play singing bowls, tuning forks, or binaural beats to clear dense vibrations.
Pro tip: Say out loud, “I release all energy that is not mine. I call all parts of my power back to me.”
3. Creative Expression
Stuck energy often shows up when we suppress our creative flow. Movement, sound, and art help transmute it into something beautiful.
Ways to move energy through creativity:
Journal your thoughts uncensored—no editing, just flow.
Dance intuitively—let your body move how it wants without choreography.
In 2004, I went to Omega Institute and they had this amazing Intuitive Dance class, Sweat your Prayers. It was magical. While effective alone, it was amazing to be in a room of people just dancing and expressing their soul.
Paint, doodle, color, knit, sew, sing, or collage. Just find a way to express what you can’t put into words.
Pro tip: Don’t aim for perfection. Aim for release.
4. Energetic Cord Visualization
Throughout your day, you exchange energy with people, places, and thoughts. This technique helps you reclaim your power.
How to practice:
Sit quietly and breathe deeply.
Visualize all cords of energy between you and anyone or anything you’ve been thinking about.
Imagine those cords gently releasing, and your own energy returning to you like soft golden light.
Place your hands on your heart and say: “I call all of my energy back to me now. I am whole and complete.”
Pro tip: Do this after interactions that leave you feeling drained, even if they were well-intentioned.
5. Community Service: Ground Through Giving
Sometimes the fastest way to realign your energy is to step outside of your own head and into your heart—and one of the most powerful ways to do that is by giving back.
Volunteering connects you to purpose. Whether you’re sharing your time, your experience, your resources, or simply your presence, acts of service remind you that you are part of something bigger.
When we serve others, we often end up healing parts of ourselves.
Ways to Give Back That Nourish Your Spirit:
Offer your skills to nonprofits that need design, tech, mentoring, or admin support
Donate to local mutual aid or grassroots organizations in your neighborhood
Spend a few hours at a shelter, food bank, or animal rescue
Help a neighbor or elder with a task they’ve been struggling to do alone
Host a community circle, meditation, or free class in your area
Pro-Tip: Service isn’t about doing it all. It’s about showing up where you can with what you have.
